RAINFOREST FESTIVAL

Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching  10 – 12 July 2009

 

WILSON will be displaying some of his recent paintings at the Rainforest Festival in Kuching. He has been invited to submit his paintings for display and sale at this annual event, and is very pleased and honoured to do so.

 

Whilst continuing his work on a large Iconic commission for Datuk Michael Manyin (the Minister of Tourism and Urban Development for Sarawak), Wilson has also been capturing yet another Sarawak Icon (The Proboscis Monkey).

 

The Rainforest Festival attracts a large audience of music lovers who have come to appreciate the many cultural styles of international music that are presented over the course of this popular annual festival.

 

WILSON very much appreciates this opportunity that the organizers have given by including his art at the festival, and, the following paintings will be on display and offered for sale during the festival.

             As an artist who has gained international recognition, WILSON looks forward to his paintings

The Iconic Proboscis   One of Sarawak’s icons that have captured the hearts of many animal and nature lovers is the very interesting Proboscis monkey. WILSON felt the need to take up the challenge of capturing this particular monkey which has clearly become very agitated and annoyed at the way in which her life partner has been acting toward her. When asked to translate what this angered proboscis was saying …..  with a wistful smile he replied, it’s in the title of the painting………   ‘… And Don’t Bother to come      Back !! ’
